Last week, a few members of our team paired up with Fashion Awareness Direct to spend some time with creative young people looking to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Designers, buyers and a few of our HR team went down to chat with the young talent and give them an insight into the different roles in the industry.
FAD is a creative charity that supports young people and helps them make the transition between education and the fashion industry. Through workshops and industry days, FAD provide young individuals an insight into what it’s like to work in the fashion industry and allows them to develop skills and the confidence to succeed.
In the recent ‘Fashion Active’ project held by FAD, thirty five 15 year-olds were invited along from the Fashion Retail Academy to take part in numerous activities. It was an amazing few days and we saw a great deal of talent from the teen designers. Customising shoes was first on the agenda - allowing the young designers got their creative juices flowing with some great designs. The amazing results can be seen here!
On the last day, as the teen designers took to the catwalk, super talented Niki from Miss Magpie Fashion Spy treated us to some amazing illustrations - two of which can be seen below. Niki was also there to help with the project and inspire people with her experience and amazing talent.
We had a fantastic time working with such inspirational and talented individuals and would like to thank FAD for letting us take part in such an amazing project.
