When Sarah Jessica Parker visited the UK recently for London Fashion Week, she confirmed reports that she is working as a consultant to Halston Heritage.
The legendary American label Halston launched Halston Heritage as a diffusion line in 2009 and we saw Carrie wearing some of their glamouorus, timeless and ever-so chic dresses in the recent Sex and the City 2 movie.
We knew that SJP was in talks with Halston to take a creative role, but how excited am I – we can now look forward to getting a slice of that Carrie style ourselves. It’s believed we can start to see some of Sarah’s designs from early next year. Yeah - can’t wait!!!
In the meantime, if you, like the rest of the world, loved Carrie Bradshaw’s Halston outfits in the film, then try this Wallis dress on for size. It has a similar feel to the sensational design that got everyone’s attention.
I hit the high street yesterday and despite the rain, found time for a little shopping therapy. I love clothes shopping at this time of year as the stunning new autumn fashions are still hitting down in stores.
Whilst walking past, the new Wallis windows caught my eye. Take a look for yourself at this pic… how cute is that outfit on the left with the beret, knitwear and fitted skirt?! Perfect and oh-so-chic for an autumn day in the office. And look… their mid season sale is now on too!
As part of my recent trip to Birmingham last weekend for a wedding, my husband and I stayed in the very cool and contemporary MalMaison Hotel, situated in Birmingham’s newest designer shopping destination – The Mailbox.
It was very chic and definitely a hotel for the ultra-glamourous. I loved all the usual hotel treats – mini bar, luxe toiletries, great city views and free 30 mins internet connection (just enough time to update a blog!). Plus I was particularly impressed with the free shopping magazines – STYLE Birmingham, the new Harvey Nichols shopping brochure and they even had their own newspaper ‘Mal life’. Get them!!!
Here’s a photo of me checking out… Excuse the no make-up but do pay attention to my fabulous ruffle bag from New Look and new glistening brooch from Wallis.
Last weekend I went to a wedding held in the beautiful courtyards at the very impressive Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham City Centre. And what did I wear? A new arrival from Wallis caught my eye last week – a very-flattering beige and black wrap dress for just £45.
I choose it as I thought the colours were very fitting for this rainy time of year, plus the powerful pattern reminded me of animal print – and I do like to show my wild side now and then!
I teamed this gorgeous Wallis dress with my Asos black jacket, Dorothy Perkins large envelope clutch, department store heels and just a hint of Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume. Oh and the chic, black earrings are from Wallis too!
I got quite a few compliments – including one from the bride herself! Now you don’t get higher praise than that!
My highlights from the day: the tasty chocolate cup cakes and the silly-face photo booth – hilarious! (I’ll leave those pictures for another day…)
