Last week, we joined forces with the other Arcadia brands to host an exclusive dinner at the ultra swanky Ivy club. The premise was simple – summon the powers that be from print and major online press and provide the setting for them to integrate together over champagne, canapés and cameras (courtesy of flip cam).
Bloggers are fast becoming an integral part of the fashion industry and you only have to look front row at fashion week to see their presence. We wanted to celebrate this diverse fashion landscape and give all our guests the opportunity to mingle and discuss how the industry is changing.
Everyone from Grazia's Paula Reed, Dolly Jones from Vogue.com and Susanna Lau of StyleBubble.co.uk was in attendance. We enlisted Ivan Rodic, of Facehunter fame as official photographer and treated each of our guests to a brand new Flip video camera--the go to gadget for any blogger on the go.
Naturally, being a room full of bloggers and journos, the cameras were immediately whipped out and a mini-interview fest ensued. It was the perfect opportunity for Wallis to say thank you to all the websites that have been so supportive over recent months such as Melanie Rickey of FashionEditorAtLarge.com, Sasha Wilkins of LibertyLondonGirl.com Aly Walsh of Thatsnotmyage.blogspot.
The night was a great success and is something we are already plotting our next great event so watch this space!
