WOW WEDDING OUTFIT
When a wedding is involved, it’s a great excuse to buy a fabulous new dress. And this summer it’s all about colour!
Designers Emanuel Ungaro and Christopher Kane set the colour trend in their summer catwalk shows and ever since we’ve seen celebrities embracing every shade of the rainbow.
Amanda Holden went head-to-toe in bright red at Ascot last week, and Yasmin Le Bon opted for a long one shoulder fuchsia number to the recent wedding of Patsy Kensit.
A maxi dress is a must for a summer barbeque or any outside affair where you want to look your best. They flatter every body shape and maxi dresses will continue to rule throughout autumn and winter too (as seen at London Fashion Week in Jenny Packham’s show).
I love this Wallis orange maxi as it combines two major trends in one (bright orange and maxi length). Summer dressing has never been so much fun!
Alternatively a print maxi dress is bang on-trend for the rest of this year. Keep accessories fuss-free (just a few stacked bangles) and heels as low as you’d like.
Finally if you’re heading to Wimbledon or the races, you have two choices: Go for smart separates - a fitted flattering pencil skirt with the top tucked in; or a must have monochrome dress.
Black and white remains a key look for many seasons to come (Designer of the Year, Luella, featured monochrome in her AW 2009/2010 catwalk show). And Cameron Diaz wore a gorgeous Stella McCartney black and white dress this month to a Beverley Hills Film Screening.
For a high street version, try this frill Petite dress. It is understated elegance at its best. To up the feminine factor wear with sky-high heels and red nail varnish.
Now you’re all set for a super-stylish summer!
